  • Conservative retired judge says Trump ‘corroded and corrupted American democracy

An influential group of Republican legal voices called for a Jan. 2024 trial date to be set for Donald Trump for his attempt to overturn the presidential election. The group included former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and Michael Luttig, a retired federal judge and one of the nation’s leading conservative legal minds. Judy Woodruff spoke with Luttig for her series, America at a Crossroads. An influential group of Republican legal voices today endorsed the January 2024 trial date proposed by special counsel Jack Smith in his 2020 election interference case against former President Donald Trump.

The group included former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales appointed by George W. Bush, and J. Michael Luttig, a retired federal appellate judge and one of the nation’s leading conservative legal minds.

Judy Woodruff recently visited Judge Luttig at his home in Colorado as part of her ongoing series America at a Crossroads.

    J. Michael Luttig, Former Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge: I understood the gravity of this matter. And I understood from my lifetime of experience in and around those offices and those institutions that this was catastrophic for America and for American democracy.

    Judy Woodruff:

Retired Judge Michael Luttig is one of the most influential conservatives to have served in the federal judiciary. He clerked for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia while he was on the appellate circuit, served as assistant counsel to President Ronald Reagan, and was the assistant attorney general under President George H.W. Bush, who later appointed him to the United States Court of Appeals.

Governor Gavin Newsom, Trump’s loudest and most relentless critic, has reportedly joined forces with Mark Kelly — war hero, astronaut, and battle-tested moderate — to form what insiders are already calling the most dangerous Democratic alliance of 2028.

One brings raw fire, media dominance, and nonstop pressure.

The other brings credibility, calm authority, and crossover appeal.

    Together?

They’re being branded the “Super Anti-Trump Weapon” — a combo designed to corner Trump, fracture the GOP, and rewrite the 2028 map.

    Republican strategists are panicking.

    Trump allies are scrambling.

The power balance just shifted — fast.

So what’s the real plan behind this alliance?

JUST IN: 30 MINUTES AGO — BREAKING on MS NOW: Jack Smith Unveils UNDENIABLE Evidence, and Trump’s Lawyers Are in a PANIC.

Walking into a Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee, Jack Smith calmly shattered the “witch hunt” narrative and put everything on the record.

In his opening statement, Smith declared:

    > “Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and to prevent the lawful transfer of power.”

Smith told lawmakers that Trump broke the law, attempted to overturn the election, and would do so again if given the chance. Unapologetic and precise, he said he has zero regrets, would charge Trump again today based on the same facts, and added bluntly: if Trump didn’t want to be indicted, he shouldn’t have broken the law.He made clear the prosecution decision was his alone, grounded in Trump’s actions and backed by multiple grand juries in two districts, regardless of party. As the testimony unfolded, Republicans appeared to immediately regret calling him—while Trump’s legal team reportedly scrambled behind the scenes.

Now comes a stunning twist: the BBC is reportedly seeking to call Jack Smith to testify in Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit. And although the full hearing wasn’t broadcast—an omission many are calling a travesty

what happened behind closed doors is exactly why Trump’s lawyers are panicking now with full evidence to show to the world….the story is still unfolding

TIM WALZ & BERNIE SANDERS ISSUE SHOCKING JOINT ORDER:

“TRUMP IS A NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT – GET THE HELL OUT OF AMERICA SO THE PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE!”

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Senator Bernie Sanders stunned the nation last night, appearing together on a fiery Washington D.C. stage for a joint broadcast that escalated into a direct command for Donald Trump’s exile, branding him a “national security threat.”

Under harsh spotlights, Walz opened with Midwestern steel:

“Trump is a clear national security threat!

His foreign groveling to dictators, leaking secrets, inciting insurrection — he’s endangered our troops, our allies, our democracy itself.”

    Sanders, fist pounding, roared:

“This man sells out America for personal gain!

He weakens our security, divides our people, threatens our survival.

Trump, get the hell out of America!

Leave so the people can finally live — without your daily danger, your chaos, your betrayal hanging over us.”

    Together, they thundered in unison:

“Trump is a national security threat.

Get out — for the safety and peace of this nation!”

Crowd of 45,000 detonated into 198 seconds of deafening “GET OUT!” chants.

Broadcast exploded: 79.2 billion views overnight, trending #1 worldwide.

Mar-a-Lago barricaded. Trump raged on Truth Social at dawn: “Radical socialist losers Walz and Crazy Bernie’s treasonous attack!”

Protests swelled nationwide. Calls for emergency security reviews surging.

Walz and Sanders’s united ultimatum just declared Trump enemy number one to America’s safety — and the demand for his exile has never been louder.

A bakery in Denmark started selling bright orange Donald Trump ‘moron’ cakes following his inauguration as president.

At the start of his second term as president of the USA, Trump didn’t exactly enamour himself to the Danes by openly discussing his desire to take control of Greenland, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark. They wrote: ‘It’s a wordplay on the Danish “Kaj kage” A cake that looks like a Green frog from a Danish Kids TV show. AND that “Kvaj” is used for someone who has done/said something really stupid. To make up for doing/saying something really stupid you give “Kvajebajer” – Aka “Moron” beers as an apology for doing/saying that stupid thingPlenty of people voiced their love for the orange confectionary, with one person commenting: “Denmark should send a box of these cakes to Trump.”

Another joked: “How very inaccurate – these cakes are actually charismatic, for one thing. Probably smarter too.”

Over on X, other pointed out the irony of Trump believing people now respect the US with him in charge.

  • Title: The Controversial Proposal: Limiting Public Office to U.S. Citizens Only

In the ever-evolving landscape of American politics, one proposal has stirred both passionate support and fierce opposition: Should public office be limited to U.S. citizens only? This proposal, pushed forward by some political figures, has ignited a debate that could potentially reshape the very fabric of American democracy. Advocates argue that this restriction is necessary to safeguard the integrity of the U.S. government, while critics argue that it could undermine the nation’s core values of inclusion, equality, and diversity. As discussions intensify, this issue could serve as a touchstone for the future direction of American democracy. In this article, we will examine the various facets of this proposal, its potential consequences, and why it matters for the American public. The core of this proposal is straightforward: it advocates that only individuals born in the United States or those who have undergone the naturalization process should be eligible to hold public office. The supporters of this idea argue that such a restriction would ensure that elected officials have a clear and unambiguous connection to the country, with a primary interest in its well-being.

The crux of the argument lies in the belief that non-citizens—whether immigrants or those with dual citizenship—might not have the full dedication or allegiance to the United States that a natural-born or naturalized citizen would. Moreover, they argue that public offices, especially those that involve decision-making powers, should not be influenced by foreign interests, ideologies, or agendas. At the heart of the debate is a central question: What does this proposal mean for democracy? The United States prides itself on being a beacon of inclusivity and opportunity. From the early days of the republic, America has prided itself on being a place where individuals from all over the world could come, contribute, and participate in the political process.

The idea of limiting public office to U.S. citizens, however, represents a step away from these ideals. Critics argue that such a policy would significantly narrow the pool of qualified candidates, potentially reducing the diversity of perspectives and experiences in government. In the modern era, where many Americans have multicultural backgrounds, excluding non-citizens from public office could alienate a large portion of the population.

Supporters of the proposal argue that this step is necessary to protect the integrity of the political system and prevent the influence of foreign governments. They claim that the U.S. is a sovereign nation, and as such, it should prioritize the interests of its citizens above those of other nations. However, critics believe this could set a dangerous precedent, one that could limit representation and undermine the principles of a representative democracy.

  • The Growing Concerns of Muslim Business Owners Amid Rising Islamophobia in the U.S.

In recent years, a troubling wave of Islamophobia has been sweeping across the United States, a reality many Muslim business owners know all too well. With the introduction of new policies under President Donald Trump, along with the inflammatory rhetoric that has dominated public discourse, many Muslim business owners have found themselves facing unprecedented levels of harassment, fear, and uncertainty. As the nation grapples with issues surrounding immigration and national security, Muslim communities are bearing the brunt of an increasingly polarized environment. Many business owners are now considering closing their doors or leaving the country altogether, caught between their commitment to their livelihood and their growing fears for the safety of their families.

This article aims to explore the challenges faced by Muslim business owners in the U.S. amid rising Islamophobia, the impact of political policies, and the broader consequences for immigrant communities. It will also delve into the emotional and economic toll on those affected and the ways in which the country can address these concerns to foster unity and healingPart 1: The Impact of Rising Islamophobia on Muslim Business Owners

    Understanding Islamophobia and Its Effect

Islamophobia refers to the irrational fear, hatred, and prejudice against Muslims and Islam. Over the years, this fear has been exacerbated by certain media portrayals and political rhetoric that falsely associate Muslims with extremism and terrorism. For many Muslim business owners, this growing wave of Islamophobia has manifested in real, tangible threats to their livelihoods and personal safety.

Harassment and discrimination are nothing new for Muslim business owners, but in recent years, these actions have become more overt and violent. From verbal abuse to physical threats and vandalism, many Muslim-owned businesses—such as gas stations, convenience stores, and car washes—have become targets. The intense hostility faced by these owners can be traced to both the policies put in place by the Trump administration and the divisive rhetoric that has filtered down into local communities. For many business owners, the fear of hostility is now a constant presence. They face daily challenges just to run their businesses without encountering abuse from customers or even the wider community. As tensions have escalated, Muslim business owners have reported feeling unsafe, with some even installing extra security measures, such as cameras and reinforced doors, to protect their establishments from potential attacks.

The rise in hate crimes, including the defacement of Muslim-owned properties and verbal attacks against employees, has contributed to a deep sense of fear among business owners. Some have even been forced to cut back on their hours or temporarily shut down their businesses for fear of escalating threats. Others, feeling vulnerable and isolated, have even considered moving their families out of the country in search of a safer, more welcoming environment. One of the key drivers of the current climate of fear is the series of safety measures introduced by President Trump’s administration, particularly those aimed at immigration. Though these policies are officially justified on the grounds of national security, many Muslim business owners feel targeted and singled out due to their religious background.

  • Three Votes, Zero Regrets: Standing Strong for America’s Future

In the face of adversity and division, millions of proud Americans continue to stand tall with President Donald J. Trump. From 2016 to 2024, his supporters have shown unwavering commitment, casting their votes with faith, hope, and a deep belief in the values that make America great. The journey has been long, but the mission is clear: to restore the spirit of freedom, faith, and family that has always been at the heart of this country.

As the 2024 election draws closer, many Americans reflect on the accomplishments of the past eight years. The economy, once teetering on the brink of disaster, has been revitalized. National security has been strengthened. And America’s global standing has been bolstered. But even in the face of these successes, the work is far from over. This isn’t about politics. This is about saving America — preserving the freedoms we hold dear, ensuring the safety and security of future generations, and protecting the values that make our nation strong. It’s about continuing the fight to secure our borders, protect our children, and uphold the Constitution.Under President Trump’s leadership, America has seen a renewed respect for religious freedom. Places of worship are once again respected, and individuals are free to practice their faith without fear of government interference. This commitment to faith is not only about protecting religious institutions but ensuring that people are free to express their beliefs in every aspect of their lives.

Freedom — a word that has long defined America’s identity — has been fiercely defended during the Trump administration. Whether it’s the right to free speech, the right to bear arms, or the right to live without government overreach, President Trump has made it clear that protecting individual liberties is at the top of his agenda.

Family, the bedrock of American society, has always been a priority for Trump. From fighting to ensure that parents have a say in their children’s education to supporting policies that strengthen the nuclear family, Trump has championed the values that hold communities together.

And of course, the flag — the symbol of America’s strength, unity, and resolve. Under Trump’s leadership, America has once again stood proudly on the global stage, unashamed of its heritage and unapologetic in its commitment to being the leader of the free world.

  • This is corruption. Not subtle. Not debatable. Corruption. And if it were any other president,

This is corruption. Not subtle. Not debatable. Corruption. And if it were any other president, it would be a defining scandal. The Wall Street Journal just reported that Donald Trump’s pardon operation has effectively become a cash-for-clemency system.

People tied to Trump are charging around $1 million just to advocate for a pardon, with totals climbing far higher if the pardon actually comes through. No neutral DOJ review. No meaningful safeguards. Just money, access, and favors.

    That’s not mercy.

    That’s selling justice.

A presidential pardon exists for one reason: to correct injustice when the system fails. It is supposed to be careful, rare, and grounded in fairness. What’s happening now flips that idea on its head.

If you’re rich, connected, or politically useful, your conviction can disappear. If you’re not, the system comes down on you at full force.

And that’s where the moral rot really shows.

Because while pardons are quietly being shopped to wealthy insiders, the same administration is running one of the most aggressive deportation campaigns in modern U.S. history. ICE is conducting mass community arrests.

People with no criminal records are being taken from their homes and workplaces. Families are being torn apart to meet raw numerical targets.

Justice for sale at the top. Punishment without mercy at the bottom.

House Judiciary Democrats estimate that Trump’s pardon spree has already wiped out over $1.3 billion in fines and restitution owed to victims — money that was supposed to go to people harmed by crime, not vanish because someone knew the right fixer.

That’s not abstract corruption. That’s real harm, transferred upward.

This is the oligarch playbook in plain sight. The rich buy forgiveness. The vulnerable get the boot.

If a Democratic president were caught running a pardon marketplace it would dominate the news for months. There would be hearings. There would be investigations. There would be resignations.

But with Trump, the outrage barely registers. Corruption has been normalized. Abuse of power has been priced in.

And that normalization is the real danger.

A system cannot call itself just when freedom depends on wealth and cruelty is reserved for those without it. Equal justice under law means nothing if mercy is auctioned off and punishment is automated.

And the fact that this barely makes the front page should terrify all of us.
